There are lots of cultures that hold animals in high esteem. Many ancient religions were based totally on the worship of animals. In the US people spend a tremendous amount of cash every year on the care of their pets. In the past one or two years many foreign animals are being taken as pets; however the cat and dog have remained the favored pets. Selling supplies for pets is big business industry in both the home based business world and the corporate world.
One of my friends has remained single. She lives a full life, working, golfing, volunteering and latterly she bought a home. Now that she is a home owner she also got a little house dog. This is a huge change for her as she has spent her complete adult life not needing to care for anybody or anything apart from herself, now she must plan her schedule around the handling of the dog. This friend has an especially generous spirit. She has given many showers and wedding gifts as well as baby presents to friends. I decided that a grouping of us should get together and give her a home warming party as well as a shower for the adoption of her new pet. I thought it might be a way for us to give back to her. I suggested different things that are needed when owning a home for the 1st time as well as items for some dog gift baskets. I had seen her with the new dog and she treats him like a baby. I decided that dog gift baskets would be the way to go. A few of us decided that we would do the dog gift baskets together. In one we put several different types of treats. In another we placed several collars and leashes as well as a doggy rain coat, sweater, and sun glasses for when she is taking him on a walk. In the 3rd dog basket we placed several gnaw toys and raw hides so that the dog would have something to do during the day when his owner was at work.
Our pal was delighted with the house warming gifts as well as the dog gifts. We had told her that we were coming over and she should have coffee on and paper plates set out. We brought appetisers, wine and several different desserts to share while she opened her gifts. She’s so thrilled about her new home and the new stage of her life. She has already met a couple of folks in her neighborhood. She has plans for developing a small flower garden next springtime. So far owning property has been great for her.
